Born in Lupwe, Lissam, in Ussa LGA in 1961, he studied International Studies at Ahmadu Bello University and later earned an MA in the Politics of Conflict and Violence from the University of Leicester.

Leading Nigeria’s Army Committee to Westminster

On 10 and 11 May 2016, he led the House Committee on the Army on a study visit to the UK Houses of Parliament, organised with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK, on oversight of defence policy, human rights and defence spending.

Faith and service have run together through Rimamnde Shawulu Kwewum’s public life. He is a committed Christian, and he gives time to churches across the constituency for talks and conversations on faith, service and the life of the community.
